Description: Mantis shrimp or stomatopods are marine crustaceans. They are one of the most beautiful creature of ocean. Mainly dweller of tropical and sub tropical habitat, these creatures can reach upto 30-38cm. Their carapace only covers the rear part of the head and four segments of the thorax. They come in various colors, from bright brown to neon green, orange, red and many more. They have sharp claws and can injure if not handled carefully. Though rare, but they have been reported to break aquarium glasses.
