World Tuberculosis Day
World TB Day
World Tuberculosis Day is a day designated to raise awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis and efforts to eliminate the disease. Today tuberculosis causes the deaths of about 1.7 million people each year, mostly in the Third World, observed on 24th March.
Every year 9 million people get sick with TB and 3 million don’t get the care they need. We believe that no one should be left behind in the fight against TB. This World TB Day, we call for a global effort to find, treat and cure the three million and accelerate progress towards zero TB deaths, infections, suffering and stigma.
In 2014, the slogan for World Tuberculosis Day is “Reach the 3 million”. So find it, treat, and cure TB.
