On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it. -
Nature always wears the colors of the spirit. -
The lake and the mountains have become my landscape, my real world. -
Custom, that is before all law; Nature, that is above all art. -
I know the lands are lit, with all the autumn blaze of Goldenrod. -
Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. -
Light in Nature creates the movement of colors. -
The mountains are calling and I must go. -
In all things of nature there is something of the marvellous. -
When nature has work to be done, she creates a genius to do it.
