Description:    Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain, rising 12,388 ft ( 3776 m) above the Kanto Plain in the central region of Honshu. It is actually an active stratovolcano which erupted last in the period 1707-08.

Importance:   The flat land below is suitable for growing crops such as tea. Like many Japanese mountains, it is revered as a sacred site. (Image Source)
