Mauna Loa is the largest volcano on the earth. It was in the Island of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. It is an active shield volcano. Its volume is estimated at approximately 18,000 cubic miles. It is very fluid; eruptions tend to be non-explosive. It has been erupting for atleast 7,00,000 years. Mauna Loa’s most recent eruption occurred from March 24 to April 15, 1984.
