A kitten accidentally fell into a canal in Japan, but was thankfully saved from drowning by this quick-witted man with his umbrella.

He’s not a firefighter yet, but Mieno Yusuke got some practice in on his own time. He was driving down the road when he noticed a cat jump out of the way of a car and down into a roadside canal.

He tweeted photos of the rescue, which are currently going viral on the internet.
