Scientific name: Tangara seledon

Distribution: Forests of southern Brazil, far-eastern Paraguay and Argentina.

Description:
The green headed tanager is a small neotropical bird measuring upto 13.6 in length.Like most other tanagers, it too has a colourful appearance, it has a bright blue body with light green nape and a lighter green head. Its back is black with blue wings and yellow or orange rump with a black tail. It has gray bill and legs.

Habit and habitat:

Though the bird is known as a forest bird, its common near human habitats, such as- parks and yards. However, it is a shy bird and prefers to be hidden.
The bird mostly eats fruits and sometimes insects.
