Genet
Genet is a species of nocturnal animal. They are related to cats but have closer relation with civet and mongoose. There are several sub-species, such as- the large spotted Genet and the widely spread common Genet. Almost all of the sub-species are found in Africa, except the common Genet which can be found in Europe and Middle-East.
Genet have a body length of 17-23 cm with 15-20 cm long bushy tail. Their body is pale brown with black spots. The head is shorter and has a fox-like shape with big ears. Males are slightly bigger than females and also more active.
Genet can jump, trot, climb up and down and leap. They are very energetic and take every action swiftly such as climbing tree. Genet usually stay in small group or alone,they are fully nocturnal and become active at night. Genets are skillful hunters. Small rodents, bat, smaller animals, birds etc. are in their food list.
