Everything’s available for sale: Ads include endangered sp. too
The limitless money-making mind of human beings can’t even differentiate between the legal and illigal activities they are doing. Violating the rules under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, several rare species of birds and animals are found to be on sale, on the web.
It is seen that, you are just a click away to have the exotic species at the cost of few bucks. The sp. includes albino Chinese soft-shelled Turtle, blue throated Macaw, albino amel corn Snake, Iguana, Red-footed Tortoise and many more. Several of these sp. find mention on the list of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) or are banned by the Union ministry of environment and forests (MOEF).
Still, these guidelines don’t stop sellers from advertising them online. The traders claim that these sp. are bred in captivity and are grown in care. But one should realise that these creatures are not ‘domestic’, their basic needs are still wild and most of the buyers also lack the knowledge in taking proper care of these animals.
We are thinking of only our Freedom, our Comfort, our Feelings, our Emotions, our Needs. Then, why can’t we take few minutes to think and realise the same things for the poor animals??
