Artist Chimpanzee
Artist Animals:
Anyone can have an artistic mind and become an artist. This is proved by the animals who have participated in the art contest organized by the Humane Society of the United States.
Among the contestants, a 37 yr. old Chimpanzee, Brent has created an artwork at Chimp Haven in Louisiana, US. Instead of using brush, he has created the beautiful art with his tongue. The tongue art of the chimp is found to be the finest chimpanzee art in the land. He was the top vote-getter in the online chimp art contest and won $10,000 for the Chimp Haven Sanctuary in Northwest Louisiana.
Five other sanctuaries around the country competed by creating painting and other wide variety of activities and playthings. Among these, a painting by male Cheetah from “Save the Chimps” in Fort Pierce, Fla., won second place and $5,000. Ripley, a chimpanzee from the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Fla., won third place and $2,500.
