International Tiger Day
29th July, International Tiger Day
A hundred years ago there were 100,000 tigers in the wild. Today there are as few as 3,200. International Tiger Day, also known as Global Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation, held annually on 29 July. It was created in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit. The goal of the day is to promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and to raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation issues.
Tigers are the most amazing thing on this planet! Feared by many, greatly misunderstood by most! These beautiful cats deserve our protection and help! We as individuals may do our best but it’s people, our species that has caused such devastation to our habitat, to the lives of this worlds beautiful creatures and ultimately to ourselves! Tigers are in the world of trouble that within the next decade they could be extinct! People are responsible for this, however as individuals we can work together to create a voice for these animals and give them what they deserve.. A life free of threats!
