World Water Day- 22 March
World Water Day- 22 March
Water- Life of every single life on Earth. Day-by-day the groundwater level is depleting fast which is inviting life-threatening scarcity of water. If this situation continues like this, then the day is not very far away when the lines of the poetry “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by James Casey, will become true:
“Water, water everywhere, not a drop to drink”.
This day is celebrated every year to focus on water issues. Each individual must wake up to the problem and begin conserving it. Some tips to conserve water, are:
1. Try to use as much water as you require.
2. Close the taps well after use.
3. Make a notice that there are no leaking taps.
4. Do not leave the taps running while brushing your teeth, washing dishes and clothes.
5. Install small shower heads to reduce the flow of the water.
6. Water in which the vegetables and fruits have been washed can be used to water the flowers and ornamental potted plants.
7. At the end of the day if you have water left in your water bottle do not throw it away, pour it over some plants.
Every drop we conserve, will result in the conservation of buckets full of water at the end of the day.
