Recently, a giant red flying squirrel (Petaurista petaurista) was found in rural Bandarban, Bangladesh. According to our source, a giant flying squirrel entered in the nearby village and the people informed the forest department at the evening, they came and caught the creature and released it in the national park. It was thought that these creatures didn’t exist in Bangladesh, but after some field work it was found that they are dwelling and successfully breeding in the hilly tropical forests of northern hilly Chittagong. Really a fantastic news for all the animal lovers.
