World Anti-Tobacco Day
World Anti-Tobacco Day- may 31. Kill it before it kills you..
World Anti-Tobacco Day is celebrated each year on 31 May throughout the world. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe. The day is further intended to draw global attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to 6 million deaths worldwide annually. The member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No Tobacco Day in 1987.
Theme of 2014: ‘Raising taxes on tobacco: what you need to know’.
This is the perfect time to remind all of you smokers that tobacco use affects more than the lungs. Use of tobacco increases the risk of gum disease, lost teeth, oral cancer and many more.
