Distribution:- These low growing rock ferns are native to Eastern America.They are found growing in dumps, inhabiting shaded limestone rich cliffs and outcroppings.

Description:- These ferns found growing only on calcareous substrates, have creeping stems and narrow elongate fronds. They exhibit an interesting means of reproduction apart from the spores producing sori.

Several green knot shaped structures known as bulbets are found present on the under-surface of the leaf. These break off and give rise to to new ferns.
