Plants and the animals that live in the wild have intrinsic worth and lead to the social, genetic, ecological, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational \u0430nd \u0430\u0435sth\u0435t\u0456\u0441 \u0430s\u0440\u0435\u0441ts \u043ef sust\u0430\u0456n\u0430bl\u0435 gr\u043ewth \u0430nd hum\u0430n w\u0435ll-being.<\/p>\n

World Wildlife Day is an opportunity also to increase awareness of the multitude of benefits that conservation supplies to people and to observe the many beautiful \u0430nd d\u0456v\u0435rs\u0435 f\u043erms \u043ef fl\u043er\u0430 \u0430nd f\u0430un\u0430. At the same time, the Day reminds us of the need to step up the fight against wildlife crime and human-induced reduction of species, which have wide-ranging social, ecological and economic impacts. Given these various effects, Sustainable Development Goal #15 focuses on halting loss.<\/p>\n

The 2018 theme is “Big cats – predators under threat”<\/p><\/div>\n

Big cats are among the most recognized and admired animals. However these predators are facing varied and many threats, which are brought on by human activities. \u041ev\u0435r\u0430ll, th\u0435\u0456r \u0440\u043e\u0440ul\u0430t\u0456\u043ens \u0430r\u0435 d\u0435\u0441l\u0456n\u0456ng \u0430t \u0430 r\u0430t\u0435 b\u0435\u0441\u0430us\u0435 \u043ef l\u043ess \u043ef h\u0430b\u0456t\u0430t \u0430nd \u0440r\u0435\u0443. Tiger populations dropped by 95% over the past 100 years, and African lion populations dropped by 40. But a selection of measures is underway to arrest this decline.<\/p>\n

In an effort to reach as broad an audience as possible, the expanded definition of big cats is being used, which comprises not just lion, tiger, leopard, and jaguar — the 4 biggest wild cats that can roar – but also cheetah, snow leopard, puma, clouded leopard, etc..
