Aptly known as the <strong>snakeskin liverwort<\/strong> as the thallus is covered with several tiny hexagonal cells which makes the entire thallus seem snake like. <!--more--><br \/>\nAnother name for this genera is the <strong>scented liverwort<\/strong>. Sorry, no rewards for guessing why it is called so. You got it right. It gives a distinct smell when crushed.<\/p>\n<p>Worldwide in distribution. Found across Europe and Canada.
