This is the legendary Ponce Ceiba which is more than 500 years old. It is mentioned in Spanish chronicles as early as 1696 by Pedro “El Portugu\u00e9s” Rodriguez — who named the river (R\u00edo Portugu\u00e9s) that runs to the left of the Ceiba.
