Definitely one of the most beautiful and cutest spider of all, the peacock spider (Maratus volans) is a tiny species of jumping spiders found in Eastern Australia. It is hard to describe the beauty of this spider with amazing colouration. Both the sexes of the species are about 5mm. Males have a circular flap on the abdomen that is coloured with bright colours and adorned with vibrant patterns, colours and patterns change depending on sub-species. The flap is fuzzy and covered with white hairs. The male raises his abdomen and opens the flap to display the colours and vibrates it. Then raises his two legs and shakes them while approaching to female and jumping side to side which looks adorable. The legs are bushy and covered with black and white hairs. Females are brown with pale colour patterns.
